Mwenge wa Vijana - Mukuru Slum in Nairobi

$600 a year will cover tuition for one student to attend a good school outside the slum.
Located in an industrial area just outside Nairobi, Mukuru kwa Reuben is Nairobi's second largest slum.  Conditions are extreme, with very little food, clean water, or resources for the school-age children.

Our trusted steward Esther Kanyi Kairu directs the Mukuru -Mwenge wa Vijana program, working with volunteers from within the slum to tutor and mentor promising students within the community, working to create a library, and encouraging and supporting innovative poverty eradication projects.

You can see the Mukuru project's own information here.
P2P Kenya is now working to raise $3000 to sponsor five of these students ($600 per student per year), and pay tuition at good schools outside the slum.  Click on the video to learn more about these children.
